If you go back and manage to change it, chances are the watch will be even newer and they won't be able to trace that one yet either. If you bought the watch from an Oris AD, and emailed Oris with the serial number, then given that their system showed it as not yet sold (which is very easy to believe) then was their reply simply 'no, we've no idea about that'? I'd be surprised if the reply was that aloof.
